“I have seen Israeli soldiers urinating in bottles and then offering them to Palestinians to drink as ‘Coke.’ The Israeli soldiers would call to each other across the roofs of Palestinian houses in the middle of night, one of them saying that he wanted to do “something great” and then urged his colleagues to pay attention. From there he proceeded to urinate into the water tank of the family who owned the house. I had to put a jerry can on my balcony in front of my bedroom to collect the urine of Israeli soldiers which dripped from the military post onto my roof every day. The soldiers urinated at night and during the day, and I was forced to collect it. Often the soldiers would collect their urine in vessels for a couple of days and then wait until I hanged my washed clothes to air-dry. Then afterwards they would hurl their urine on my clothes…During middays in the summer, the foul smell of their feces and urine contaminate the fresh air.” -- Excerpt from ‘IDF Soldiers and Jewish Squatters: Shit, Drugs and Abuse...The Daily Life of Kawther Salam.’
